Is it a bike? Not really! Is it a running machine? Well sort of. Is it an elliptical? I think so! Truth be told, it is the best of all three. An Elliptigo steers like a bike and has bike gears, tires, and brakes. It is a running caliber work out without impact pain. It has an elongated elliptical path of motion. I think a good definition would be a super charged outdoor elliptical.
Is it easy to ride? It has a 3 to 5 second learning curve for most people because taking off is a little different. You have a very short push off like a scooter. Standing gives people more balance than sitting. Think of it this way, pushing someone off a stool is easier than pushing someone to the ground that is standing. The turning radius is slightly longer than a bike so it takes a little getting used to. It is like the first time someone drives a SUV that has only driven a car. Like an SUV it does burn more fuel, but for once that is a good thing!
